Priority Groups

You can give preference in the lottery to certain groups such as siblings or employees.

How to Order Applications within a Priority Group

As you set up the priorities within the track year, you can select whether students within that group should be randomized within that group or ordered by date.

When you run a lottery, the priorities will be pulled based on the order listed in the track year.

Students within a priority group will be pulled based on the setting for random/ordered.

  • If they're ordered based on qualifying date, then their order won't change as you run lotteries & previews.  Examples of this might be your highest preferences such as students of board members, teachers, siblings, etc.
  • If they're set up to be random within the priority group, then they'll still be prioritized above "General" but they'll be selected randomly within that priority group.  Students within this priority group might be mile-radius students, military, etc.

Applicants with no priority status

When running a lottery, you have the option order general applications in 2 ways:

1. Random Order (this is the default setting): Students within the General priority group will be randomly selected each time a lottery or preview is run.

2. Application Date - first come, first served: Students within the General priority group will be listed in order of when they applied. Important Note: Priority Groups will still rise to the top of this list.

You can change this setting at anytime through-out the lottery process. Here is how to do:

Settings tab / Enrollment Periods / Edit the year you want to adjust / Scroll down to see the following box & Save your selection:
