From Our Founder

What if we started with the impossible?

Twenty years ago, Frogtummy began with a single charter school website. One project quickly became ten, and what started as a design business evolved into something much bigger.

As we worked with schools, we saw opportunities everywhere. Processes that were unnecessarily complicated. Technology that hadn't kept pace. Entire workflows that could be reimagined.

And we believed we could do something about it.

We've never been particularly interested in doing things the way they've always been done.

We challenge conventional thinking. We question processes that everyone has accepted for years. We build things that haven't been built before, and we keep refining them alongside the schools that use them.

When we started building our Lottery software, I challenged our subject matter expert to forget everything she knew about how the process worked. Forget the existing systems, the limitations, and the way things had always been done. Instead, imagine the absolute best solution—one that would solve every frustration and make the entire process work exactly as you'd want it to.

We start with the dream solution and work backward.

She was already someone who saw possibilities others couldn't. The challenge was letting go of the limitations she'd encountered for years and believing those possibilities could actually become reality.

Years ago, one of my developers told me about a conversation he'd had with another developer. After explaining something I'd envisioned, the other developer responded, "Her imagination is impossible."

And they built it. Exactly what I'd imagined.

Twelve years later, they're still with Frogtummy. They thrive on challenges that push them beyond what they already know, learning what it takes to build things that once seemed impossible.

That's the kind of people we hire.

Today, that same approach has shaped an ecosystem of connected products, each designed to solve real problems and work together. But the technology is only part of what we've built.

We've created a community of schools that contribute ideas, challenge us, embrace new approaches, and help shape what comes next. Their feedback makes our products better, and those improvements benefit everyone.

There's something incredibly rewarding about introducing an idea that challenges the status quo, watching schools adopt it, and eventually hearing them wonder how they ever operated without it.

We don't believe school technology should stand still. And neither should we.

After 20 years, we're still questioning, experimenting, inventing, and building. And the schools we work with are right there, dreaming up what's next alongside us.

Welcome to Frogtummy. What's your impossible idea?
