In this working group, we explore two powerful marketing tools in myLottery — Pre-Interest Leads and the Insights tab — that help you know which families are interested, how they heard about you, and why they leave.
Pre-Interest Leads gives you timely insight into prospective families who have shown interest in attending your school, such as those who may have recently attended a school activity and are exploring creating an application. Record notes about interactions with parents during the sales cycle, identify who has been contacted, and even be notified when someone starts to create an account, but doesn't finish.
Get specific data on how families heard about your school, why they declined your offer, and why they withdrew from your school.
Learn best practices for when and how to follow up with families, how to maximize conversions, and how to make genuine connections that will help prospective families feel welcome and known.
Pre-Interest Leads
Started Creating Account, Did Not Enter Password
This group includes anyone who started creating a Frogtummy account with your school but didn't finish by setting a password.
- Get auto emails anytime someone starts creating an account and doesn't finish
- Mark contacts as contacted once you connect with them
- Delete unwanted or out-of-date contacts by selecting the individual contact
- Add notes to individual contacts as you connect with them
- Sort contacts by the date they started creating an account to see the most recent
This section is most effective when monitored closely, and new contacts are followed up with a phone call, email or text shortly after they start creating an account.
Finished Creating Account, Did Not Start Application
This group contains people who finished creating their accounts but did not start an application. People in this group could be leads or current parents, faculty, or staff.
- Sort the list by date to view the most recent.
- Review the list and remove parents of current students, faculty, and staff by selecting the contacts and clicking 'Remove from report.'
- Delete unwanted or out-of-date contacts by selecting the contact and clicking 'Delete' (Do not delete current parents/staff)
- Mark individuals you contact and make notes about the interaction for later follow-up.
Once you determine who is a lead from this group, invite them to your school for a tour. It's important to follow up with these leads, get them excited about your school and connected to it.
Enrolled Student At School, No Account Created
This group contains parents of current students who do not have a Frogtummy account. You need to be in the current school year to see this group.
- View contacts by selecting the current school year at the top of the dashboard.
- Invite these families to create an account.
- Message contacts by selecting one or more contacts and clicking 'Email/SMS.'
- Call families and connect with them about their experience at your school, encourage family buy-in
This group represents parent buy-in for your school. How can you encourage contacts from this group to share information about your school with family and friends?

Survey: How Did You Hear About Us?
These are the results of the survey question given when a new contact starts to create an account. This can help you see where leads are coming from, what is working, and what isn't.
- Friends & Family
Most often the highest category for schools. It represents family buy-in. Because when someone is happy about the school, they share it naturally with friends and family. You can view more details for this category below. Think about ways you could encourage families to share about your school. For example, give extra carnival tickets to families who bring non-enrolled families to the carnival. Give the guests some school swag for coming. - Other
Gives you a look into more unique ways someone heard about your school. If you use a different form of advertising, like a billboard or a radio station, that would show up here. You can see more detailed answers below on how contacts who selected 'other' heard about your school. - Search Engine
Shows contacts who found your school via an internet search. If you paid for search results, look at how many of these contacts had students enroll in your school. This will help you know if your resources are being used effectively. - Social Media
See which platform is driving the most traffic to your enrollment page. If you are paying for ads on any social media platforms, it is also helpful to compare these results to what you are spending. - "I Already Attend the School" and "Attended a School Event"
Help you see how many new accounts are created by parents of current students and potential families after they attend a school event. If you held an event and encouraged current families to bring new potential families, it would be great to see this number after the event. How many new accounts did that one event inspire? How many of those turn into new students?
Survey: Offer Declined
This survey helps schools understand why families are not accepting the offer and ultimately what barriers are preventing them from becoming enrolled families. The myLottery sales funnel auto-sends messages to families along the journey from submitting an application to getting an offer. Still, if a school has a high number of declined families that they get no response from, maybe families on the waitlist or offered a spot need a more personal approach, like a phone call.
If a family marks 'other' as their reason for declining, the survey will ask them more specifics, which can be seen below. This can help schools dig a little deeper. If a lot of families mark 'attending local district school,' a barrier may be transportation. If a school sees this, they may want to highlight myCarpool at future enrollment events and even to families on this list with a quick call.
Survey: Student Withdrawn
This survey is undergoing a few more enhancements. It will show schools why a family has decided to leave the school. These are students who made it all the way through the process of registration and then left the school. It will soon allow schools to be able to view this data based on dates, i.e., students who never attended vs students who attend at least one day before withdrawing.
