Application Holds

The goal is to zero out these items.

Application On Hold means that application won't be considered for the lottery until the hold is removed.

Sometimes parents mis-understand this question on the application.

Steps to clarify the suspension:

1. Look them up on the Data Gateway to confirm they have been expelled. Find this information in the student record under Incident Details.

2. You may want to contact parent or former schools to get confirmation.

3. After your research, if you do not intend to enroll them, change their Status from on hold to offer declined. We recommend un-checking the box to notify parent if you have already done so.

Requesting Transfer hold is only for schools set up with a multi-campus model.  A student at one campus can request transfer to another campus, but they need to be confirmed by admin first to ensure the integrity of the lottery preference.  Once the transfer request is approved, the student will be placed on the waiting list, ready for the next lottery to be run.

Non-Standard Grades hold is for when a student requests a grade level other than what their birthday dictates.

Steps to clear this hold:

1. Confirm their birthday from their birth certificate and/or contact parents for more information as to why a different grade was selected on the application. NOTE: If their birthday falls in August or September, it is likely their request is valid, and you may decide to just remove the hold.

2. If you confirm the grade/birthdate is correct, you can simply open the record in lottery and click the Remove Hold button.

3. If the grade/birthdate is not correct on the application, you can change the information on the application with the following steps:

  • Search/View the student record in myLottery
  • Proxy as the parent (the link is next to their name)
  • Click the Lottery tab
  • Edit the application
  • Update/Submit

School Admin have the option to place a student on an Administrator Hold for any reason. For example, maybe the student was going to move into the area, but they're running behind schedule and wanted to be put on hold until they've moved and are ready to start school. This would be an appropriate use of the Administrator Hold option.
